Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
Not at all. Yoga isn't about how flexible you are—it's about meeting yourself exactly where you are. My classes are designed to help you move in a way that feels comfortable and supportive for your body, whether you're completely new to yoga or returning after a break.
-
Yes, absolutely. Many of my students are trying yoga for the very first time. You'll be gently guided throughout the class, with plenty of options so you can practise in a way that feels right for you. There is never any expectation to keep up with anyone else.
-
Choose clothing that feels comfortable and allows you to move and breathe with ease. Soft, non-restrictive clothing is ideal, especially during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Yoga is usually practised barefoot.
-
I offer both types of classes, but if the class is online it will be conducted via Zoom
-
A yoga mat if you have one, along with a bottle of water. It would be helpful to have a few blocks as well as a blanket or cushion for extra comfort during relaxation
-
Arriving 5 minutes before class you should allow you to settle into the space or join the Zoom link, ask any questions and make sure you have all relevant props
-
My classes offer a calm, welcoming environment where you're encouraged to move at your own pace. We'll explore gentle movement, breathing practices and relaxation, with invitations rather than instructions. You'll always have choices, and you're free to rest, adapt or simply observe whenever you need to.
About My Classes
-
I teach gentle, trauma-informed yoga, alongside specialist pregnancy and postnatal yoga. My classes focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system and develop strength, mobility and confidence with compassion.
-
Trauma-informed yoga recognises that every person arrives with their own experiences and that feeling safe is an essential part of wellbeing. My classes prioritise choice, autonomy and curiosity rather than performance or perfection. I use invitational language, offer options instead of corrections, and encourage you to listen to your own body throughout the practice.ou. There is never any expectation to keep up with anyone else.
-
Most classes last around 60 minutes, giving plenty of time for mindful movement, breathwork, relaxation and moments of rest.

I keep class sizes small wherever possible to create a relaxed atmosphere and allow everyone to receive individual support.
Pregnancy & Postnatal
-
Yes. My pregnancy yoga classes are designed to safely support you through pregnancy while helping you build strength, ease common pregnancy discomforts, connect with your baby and prepare for birth through movement, breathing and relaxation.
-
Most people begin pregnancy yoga after their first trimester, although every pregnancy is different. If you're unsure, please get in touch or speak with your midwife or healthcare provider before booking.
-
This varies for everyone. Many people return from around six weeks after a vaginal birth, or around 10–12 weeks following a caesarean birth, with approval from their healthcare professional. My postnatal classes are designed to gently support your recovery and help you reconnect with your body.
-
Yes. My postnatal classes are baby-friendly, and you're welcome to feed, cuddle, change or settle your baby whenever needed. There is no expectation for babies to sleep or stay quiet—the classes are designed around real life with little ones.
Health & Wellbeing
-
Many people find yoga helps them feel calmer and more grounded. Gentle movement, mindful breathing and relaxation can support nervous system regulation and emotional wellbeing. Yoga isn't a replacement for medical or psychological care, but it can be a valuable complementary practice.
-
You are very welcome. My trauma-informed approach aims to create a space where you feel respected, supported and in control of your own experience. There is never any pressure to participate in every movement or stay in a pose. Choice is at the heart of every class.
-
Yes. Please let me know about any injuries, medical conditions or concerns before class so I can offer suitable adaptations. My classes are designed to be accessible, and you're always encouraged to work within your own comfort.

My classes are about far more than stretching. They offer time to slow down, breathe, reconnect and care for yourself. Every class is rooted in compassion, choice and respect, creating a supportive environment where you can simply be yourself without judgement. I bring a wealth of experience with regards to trauma informed poses, intelligent sequencing and gentle somatic movement.

community
-
Even one class a week can make a meaningful difference. Regular practice can support strength, mobility, emotional wellbeing and resilience. More importantly, yoga offers dedicated time to pause, breathe and care for yourself—something that's especially valuable during pregnancy, early parenthood and times of stress.
